Club Competitions

We have a wide range of club competitions throughout the season. These include scheduled "hat" games, one-day competitions and knock-out competitions run throughout the season. The club also participates in Gents and Ladies competitions at Scotland and County levels.

Hat Games:
As the title implies, participants draw rink and position from a hat to make up the teams on the day. Hat games are played on -
Sunday (2:30pm)  
Tuesday (2pm - Seniors only) 
Wednesday (6:30pm to 30th April, 7pm from 1st May, 6:30pm from 1st September)
Saturday (6:30pm)
Points count from 1st May through 31st August (3 for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss)

Ladies Championship: Single Hand: 21 shots
Bess Hunter: Single Hand: 21 shots 
E Ford Trophy: Single Hand: best of 3 sets - 7 shots; final best of 5 sets - 7 shots
4 Bowl Pairs: Pairs: 17 ends

Gents Competitions:
Gents Championship: Single Hand: 21 shots
Presidents: Single Hand: 21 shots
J Wallace Trophy (Gents): Single Hand: best of 3 sets - 7 shots; final best of 5 sets - 7 shots
4 Bowl Pairs: Pairs: 17 ends

Mixed Competitions:
Juniors: Single Hand: 21 shots (under 25 years)
Barnes Trophy: Single Hand: 21 shots
Renton Shield: Single Hand: 21 shots
Montgomery Cup: Single Hand: 21 shots
Handicap Trophy: Single Hand; 21 shots with handicap
Senior Single Hand: Single Hand: 21 shots (over 60)
4 Bowl Mixed Pairs: Pairs: 17 ends (partner drawn)
George Smith Shield: Pairs: TBC (partner drawn)
Cowie Shield: Single Hand: 2 bowl, 7 ends (drawn on day)
George Wadell Ford: Single Hand: 3 bowl, 7 ends (drawn on day)
Gibson Triples: Triples: 1 skip / 1 lady / 1 other: played over 1 week (format decided by Match Committee)
